Our Approach

Multi-disciplinary
refraction

Like light passing through a prism, our research methodology takes a single question and refracts it through multiple disciplinary lenses — mathematics, neuroscience, engineering, and philosophy — each revealing a different spectrum of insight.

This approach allows us to see problems that are invisible from any single perspective and construct solutions that are robust across every dimension of evaluation.

EUWL MANIFESTO — 2024

Timeline

Wavelength

Our history, measured in frequencies.

2020

Foundation Established

EUWL founded in Berlin by a coalition of European AI researchers with a mission to build transparent, aligned, and open artificial intelligence for the continent.

2021

First Model Training

Completed training of our first 10B parameter model, demonstrating emergent reasoning capabilities on novel benchmarks and establishing our core research direction.

2022

Safety Division Launched

Opened our dedicated safety research division in Zurich, bringing together ethicists, policymakers, and engineers to build rigorous alignment frameworks.

2023

Multimodal Breakthrough

Achieved state-of-the-art results on 14 multimodal benchmarks with our unified architecture, demonstrating true cross-modal understanding rather than separate processing pipelines.

2024

Frontier Scale

Expanded to Amsterdam. Launched our 47T parameter model across 40+ partner institutions. Published 23 papers in top-tier venues. The spectrum keeps expanding.

Where all paths
converge.

Every wavelength of our research converges toward a single point — intelligence that serves humanity. Step into the light.
