Our Story

A Corner Spot With
intentions

Hop & Hearth started as a conversation between two friends who believed Portland deserved a pub where the beer list changes weekly but the warmth never does. No TVs. Nochains. No shortcuts.

We opened in the fall of 2018 with six taps, a used kitchen, and a hand-painted sign. Seventeen months later, Willamette Week named us Best Neighborhood Bar — not because we were the fanciest, but because we were the most intentional.

Today we pour twelve rotating taps alongside a small, fierce kitchen that treats food pairings as seriously as any tasting menu. The hearth is real. The conversations are louder than the music. And the front door still sticks a little.
